Plowshare Selects OXB as Manufacturing Partner for PLOW-101
The collaboration brings specialized process-development and manufacturing capabilities to Plowshare’s lead gene therapy program for Maple Syrup Urine Disease.
Plowshare Therapies has selected OXB to provide process-development and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) manufacturing services for PLOW-101, our investigational dual-gene therapy for Maple Syrup Urine Disease (MSUD) types 1A and 1B.
Developing a gene therapy requires promising science but also a carefully controlled and reproducible process for manufacturing the therapy according to exacting quality and regulatory standards. OXB brings more than three decades of viral-vector development and manufacturing experience to that work. The program will be supported from OXB’s FDA-approved, commercial-scale facility in Durham, North Carolina.
Plowshare was created alongside the community it serves to help bring the best therapeutic science to children with rare diseases. Selecting a manufacturing partner whose standards match the seriousness of that responsibility represents another meaningful step as PLOW-101 advances toward an Investigational New Drug application.
